InteriorWorx Commercial Flooring is one of Arizona's leading commercial flooring contractors, serving general contractors, developers, healthcare facilities, educational institutions, industrial facilities, hospitality projects, and mission-critical environments throughout the Southwest.
As our Concrete Services division continues to grow, we are seeking a proven leader to oversee and expand our concrete polishing, floor preparation, moisture mitigation, self-leveling underlayment, shot blasting, grinding, and specialty surface preparation operations as Director of Concretes Services.  

Position Summary:
The Director of Concrete Services is responsible for the overall leadership, profitability, growth, safety, quality, and operational execution of the Concrete Services division.
This role combines field leadership, business management, customer relations, workforce development, estimating support, and strategic planning. The ideal candidate understands both the technical and business aspects of commercial concrete surface preparation and polished concrete systems.

This is a leadership position responsible for building a scalable operation capable of supporting large commercial projects throughout Arizona.

Key Responsibilities:
Operations Management:
  • Oversee all concrete polishing, grinding, shot blasting, scarifying, self-leveling, moisture mitigation, and floor preparation operations.
  • Manage project schedules, manpower planning, equipment utilization, and production goals.
  • Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to company quality standards.
  • Develop and maintain production benchmarks and labor productivity standards.
  • Monitor project performance and proactively resolve field issues.

Leadership & Team Development:
  • Recruit, train, mentor, and develop field personnel.
  • Build a culture focused on accountability, craftsmanship, safety, and continuous improvement.
  • Conduct regular field audits and performance reviews.
  • Create clear career paths for foremen, operators, and technicians.

Financial Management:
  • Own division profitability and financial performance.
  • Review job cost reports and production metrics.
  • Assist estimating with labor production rates and budgeting.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and margins.
  • Participate in forecasting and annual budgeting processes.

Customer Relations:
  • Develop strong relationships with general contractors, owners, architects, and project teams.
  • Participate in pre-construction meetings and project planning.
  • Resolve customer concerns quickly and professionally.
  • Support business development efforts and identify growth opportunities.

Safety & Quality:
  • Enforce company safety standards and OSHA compliance.
  • Conduct regular jobsite inspections.
  • Ensure proper installation and testing procedures are followed.
  • Maintain high-quality standards across all projects.

Business Growth:
  • Help expand market share throughout Arizona.
  • Identify new service opportunities and emerging technologies.
  • Support strategic planning initiatives.
  • Assist in evaluating equipment purchases and capital investments.

Technical Knowledge Requirements
Strong understanding of:
  • Concrete polishing systems.
  • Self-leveling underlayments.
  • Moisture mitigation systems.
  • Surface preparation requirements.
  • ASTM standards related to concrete flooring.
  • Floor flatness and levelness testing.
  • Grinding and polishing equipment.
  • Diamond tooling selection.
  • Joint repair systems.
  • Concrete densifiers and guard products.
  • Production estimating.
  • Job costing and labor tracking.

Qualifications:
Required:
  • 7+ years of experience in commercial concrete polishing, floor prep, or related construction operations.
  • 3+ years of leadership or management experience.
  • Proven experience managing multiple crews and projects simultaneously.
  • Strong understanding of commercial construction practices.
  • Ability to read plans, specifications, and project schedules.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software.

Preferred:
  • Experience with large-scale commercial projects.
  • Experience managing P&L responsibility.
  • OSHA 30 Certification.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).
  • Experience with moisture testing and remediation systems.
  • Experience with EOS, Lean Construction, or operational management systems.
